Coming Out of nada: A CityCentral Success Story
At CityCentral, it is important for us to celebrate the successes of our members. We strive to create an environment to allow professionals to connect, collaborate, and thrive.
What happened?
A startup headquartered at CityCentral has done just that in a short period of time, and secured investment from a prominent venture capitalist. Their name? nada. This past summer, co-founders Zak Waddell and John Green were laid off from their financial services company due to industry pressure. CityCentral caught wind of the incident and invited them into their co-working community for free. Shortly afterward, they were joined by co-founder, Mauricio Delgado. The trio moved into to CityCentral and took the leap from corporate to building a startup — and thus, nada was born They decided, since they were “coming from nada”, that would be their company’s namesake.
“That’s exactly one of the reasons why we named our company nada. We took a deep breath and literally said, ‘this is it. It’s all or nothing,’” Waddell says.
nada is a tech-enabled real estate brokerage company that’s redefining how people buy and sell homes to create wealth, well-being, and welfare for homeowners and the communities they live in.
“We’re pumped to have our launch party exactly where we got our start, and we’re grateful for CityCentral and our colleagues here,” Green comments.
In the past three months, nada has enjoyed the benefits of CityCentral and has been able to successfully build a team and secure seed funding. Today, they are officially CityCentral members, with their own office space, and are expanding their business within our community.
