In this spotlight, we speak with Todd Pagitt, a technology sales leader for TEKSytems who offices out of CitCentral Fort Worth. Todd has been with the company 17 years, and has had the privilege of watching it grow and change as it makes its mark on different industries. Join us in learning more about Todd's work, what inspired him to join the company, and what compelled him to commit to its mission.
Tell us a little about TEKsystems!
TEKsystems is a global business and technology services company. We help our clients achieve their business transformation and customer experience goals. What led you to starting your journey with TEKsystems?
I was excited to join TEKsystems almost 18-years ago because of the technology industry that we serve. I’ve always been interested in understanding how corporations utilize technology to power their businesses. That, plus the inherent culture of TEKsystems and how we approach our work internally and externally, made it a really great place for me to have a career.
What sets your business apart from your competitors?
We are a large Systems Integrator with deep expertise throughout our key practice areas, and coupled with our significant relationships in the marketplace, we provide a value and service like no other.
What is something you wish you’d known when you were just starting your business?
One of the earliest lessons I learned at TEKsystems is the future value of knowledge and hard work. If you take time to learn something and get great at it now, your payoff might not be immediate – but it will have future value that will pay a dividend. “Make your future-self happy” is a phrase I use often.
How to do you navigate your work-life balance? I look at this through the lens of “work-life integration” and not “work-life balance”. My hope has always been to find a level of fulfillment and joy in my work to where there isn’t a feeling of divide between the two.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Helping our teammates achieve their personal and professional goals is by far the most rewarding part of what I do. To watch from day one when someone joins the company and creates a vision of what their career at TEKsystems can entail, all the way through to when they achieve their goals and make their vision a reality is the most significant thing that happens here.
How has being a part of the CityCentral Fort Worth community affected you and your business?
We have had the opportunity to network with other members of CityCentral over the years, and it’s always great to understand what they are seeing in the local marketplace. Being a member here provides great local perspectives for us.
If you had a friend in town, and you could take them to one of your favorite restaurants or spots in your community, where would you take them to?
Reata is where I take all of our visitors! It’s a Downtown Ft. Worth staple.
