#communityovereverything The Youngblood Group

Meet The Youngblood Group! Founded by Josh Youngblood, The Youngblood Group is a local tax firm with headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Josh and his team are dedicated to giving clients across the country the best services possible. They do this by staying up-to-date on the constantly changing tax laws. Josh and his team are a great addition to CityCentral Addison. They have a lot of knowledge and a strong desire to do the best job possible. Come with us as we look into what makes The Youngblood Group successful.

Tell us a little about The Youngblood Group.

The Youngblood Group is a forward-thinking tax firm located in Dallas, Texas, dedicated to providing exceptional tax services. Our firm is built on a foundation of trust, expertise, and unwavering commitment to our clients' success. We specialize in tax planning and preparation, bookkeeping, and IRS representation (collections, appeals, and audits).

What led you to start The Youngblood Group?

I saw a need for competent tax professionals who are also approachable and don’t talk down to their clients. For many, taxes are confusing, even anxiety inducing. This anxiety can be compounded for a client who is facing IRS problems. Our firm does not exploit fear—we approach everything in a calm manner and lay out all options for our clients.

What sets your business apart from your competitors?

Continuing education is a priority for us, allowing us to be up-to-date with ever-changing tax laws. And as tax laws change, it’s invaluable to have someone on your side who is familiar with them. We work with clients all across the United States who have US tax obligations. Our clients value the way we leverage technology, making our processes easy for them, and the way we’re transparent with our pricing.

What is something you wish you’d known when you were just starting your business?

Starting any new business is never without risk, and you never want to turn away business. However, I think it’s very important to know what your ideal client is. Not everyone is a good fit. It’s okay to pass if something doesn’t feel right.

How do you navigate your work-life balance?

This can be one of the biggest challenges when you have your own business. Having a healthy work-life balance comes down to having boundaries. For me, that means I schedule everything. I have set office hours and don’t have any unscheduled meetings or phone calls. This allows us to give each client the attention they deserve but also allows us to focus on work—and have a life outside of work when I can unplug.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is when someone comes to me who is plagued with a tax problem and I am able to solve it once and for all. IRS problems do not go away on their own; you need to have an experienced professional in your corner dealing with the IRS.

How has being a part of the The Youngblood Group community affected you and your business?

Working within a diverse community—here in the metroplex, the state, and across the country—has allowed me to meet people with diverse tax and bookkeeping needs. This has been invaluable in expanding my repertoire of skills and experience.

If you had a friend in town and you could take them to one of your favorite restaurants or spots in your community, where would you take them?

A perfect afternoon would include Al Biernat's North for lunch and Cafe Astoria for dessert and coffee.
