DFW Christmas Guide 2023

DFW Christmas Guide 2023

Although many holiday events have been canceled this year, Texas is not letting the Christmas spirit dwindle. The Lone Star State is scattered with holiday festivities that are eager to get you and your family looking at an array of lights with a hot chocolate in hand. To make your December to-do list easier, we have found the top 5 things to do in DFW for Christmas this year!

Get lost in the Gift of Lights at Texas Motor Speedway

If you are here for the light show, then we’ve got you covered! Over a million lights are displayed in Fort Worth, TX from November 26th – January 3rd. The best part about this excursion is that it is drive thru, making for a safe and warm experience.

Visit the Christmas Capital of Texas

If you are new to Texas or this is your first year celebrating Christmas in DFW, you MUST visit Grapevine during the month of December. This historic North Texas town is filled with cute shops, art galleries, bakeries and so much more. But during Christmas time, you could mistake it for Whoville! Famous for it’s North Pole Express ride, Grapevine is filled with so much more Christmas activities you can’t miss.

Give back with the Christmas Blanket Drive

Let’s be real, most kids love Christmas time because of the gifts they receive and getting to sit on Santa’s lap. Although this part of the holiday creates great memories, it is important to teach the “true meaning” of Christmas as well: creating happiness for others. HDNP is a nonprofit organization located in Arlington, TX that holds an annual Christmas Blanket Drive for the homeless on Christmas Eve from 10am – 2pm. This small act of kindness is the perfect way to give back and create a thoughtful tradition for you and your family.

Craddock Lumber Co

Experience the 12 Days of Christmas in real life

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens hosts an annual outdoor exhibit featuring the 12 Days of Christmas. This 7.5 mile walk through the garden takes you on a journey to find the glass gazebo’s encased with characters from the famous 12 Days of Christmas carol. The park is open in the day, but to get the full experience you must go at night when the gazebos and gardens are lit. This is the perfect place to sing your heart out with friends and family with no judgement!

Get a thrill with Six Flag’s Holiday in the Park

If you are looking for some real Christmas excitement, look no further. Six Flag’s annual Holiday in the Park is in full swing this year. The park is decorated head to toe in Christmas spirit, making for a perfect family experience to never forget. If you aren’t into the rides, the park has put together festive shows, holiday-themed treats, jolly games and so much more!
