Today we have the pleasure of highlighting Rosemary Rodriguez with Nutrition Genesis, a nutrition counseling firm operating out of CityCentral Fort Worth. Join us as we learn more about why Rosemary started her business, the extent of her nutrition and health services, and what makes her work so rewarding!

Tell us a little bit about Nutrition Genesis.

Nutrition Genesis LLC was founded in 2023 to help close the gap between provider and client. Here at Nutrition Genesis LLC, we take a collaborative approach to care with our clients, providing a safe space and non-judgmental environment where clients can feel truly seen and heard. 

What led you to start Nutrition Genesis?

I started Nutrition Genesis LLC after seeing there is a need for compassionate, evidence-based care in the treatment of eating disorders. So many people struggle not only with food, but also with body image issues, and these struggles can be incredibly difficult to talk about. I started my private practice so clients can have a provider they feel safe and comfortable talking to about these struggles. 

What sets your business apart from your competitors?

What sets me apart from my competitors is that I truly care about my clients. My clients aren’t just a number to me. I’m here because I truly care and want to help my clients succeed in life and recovery. With eating disorders, it’s about the food but so not about the food. At my practice, clients will explore how their lived experiences shaped their relationship with food, and I will help support them working towards healing their relationship with food and body image.

What is something you wish you’d known when first starting your business?

Something I wish I knew when just starting my business is that there’s a lot of learning as you go, in terms of running a business. It’s okay to not have it all figured out in the beginning, that’s where the real growth happens!

What is one unexpected way your business has changed since starting your journey?

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is to see clients go into recovery. To see them have a relationship with food where they feel safe, and to be free from their eating disorder. It really is a beautiful thing to see.

What is something you’ve learned about yourself or the industry since starting your business?

Something that I learned about myself since starting my business is that I can do all the things, even the hard ones. There are things I have been afraid to do when starting out, that I can do with ease now, such as collaborating with other providers, hosting webinars, and verifying insurance. I’m so proud of how far I’ve come and all the hard work it took to get here.

How has being a aprt of the CityCentral community affected you and your business?

Being a part of CityCentral Fort Worth is a game changer for my business. I’m now able to provide in-person nutrition counseling in a private office and it’s always been my dream to work in Downtown Fort Worth, and now I get to do that!

If you could have a conversation over coffee with yourself from 5 years ago, what would you say to him/her?

If I could have a coffee chat with myself from 5 years ago, I would tell myself, just do it. It’s okay to be scared and afraid. Let that be your strength to grow. And let’s get comfortable with the uncomfortable, you’ll be surprised how far you can go with that mindset.

If you had a friend visiting from out of town, where would you take them?

If I had a friend in town, we’re going to Cooper’s BBQ in the Stockyards and getting a beef rib with potato salad and potato chips!
